Billy Elliot

Así abre este filme tan emotivo:

I was dancing when I was twelve (x2)
I was dancing when I was aaah (x2)
I danced myself right out the womb (x2)
Is it strange to dance so soon
I danced myself right out the womb

I was dancing when I was eight (x2)
Is it strange to dance so late (x2)
I danced myself into the tomb (x2)
Is it strange to dance so soon
I danced myself into the tomb

Is it wrong to understand
The fear that dwells inside a man
What's it like to be a loon
I liken it to a balloon

I danced myself out of the womb (x2)
Is it strange to dance so soon
I danced myself into the tomb (x2)
But when again once more

I danced myself out of the womb (x2)
Is it strange to dance so soon
I danced myself out of the womb...

Al negarle su padre el baile explota. Pero lo hace bailando al ritmo de la canción Town Called Malice, del grupo The Jam:

Better stop dreaming of the quiet life-
Cos its the one well never know
And quit running for that runaway bus-
Cos those rosey days are few
And - stop apologising for the things youve never done,
Cos time is short and life is cruel-
But its up to us to change
This town called malice.
Rows and rows of disused milk floats
Stand dying in the dairy yard
And a hundred lonely housewives clutch empty milk
Bottles to their hearts
Hanging out their old love letters on the line to dry
Its enough to make you stop believing when tears come
Fast and furious
In a town called malice.

Struggle after struggle -year after year
The atmospheres a fine blend of ice-
Im almost stone cold dead
In a town called malice.

A whole streets belief in sundays roast beef
Gets dashed against the co-op
To either cut down on beer or the kids new gear
Its a big decision in a town called malice.

The ghost of a steam train -echoes down my track
Its at the moment bound for nowhere-
Just going round and round
Playground kids and creaking swings-
Lost laughter in the breeze
I could go on for hours and I probably will-
But Id sooner put some joy back
In this town called malice.

I Love To Boogie, también de T-Rex, como otros tres temas. Una canción por la que no pasan los años, fue una muy buena elección. Y, además, creo que querían acercar el baile a todo el mundo. Y con esta canción, ¿quién puede resistirse?

We love to boogie, we love to boogie
Jitterbug boogie, Bolan pretty boogie
We love to boogie on a Saturday night

Belinda Mae Fender's got a Cadillac Bone
Jenny's lost her cherry walking
all the way home
The passions of the Earth blasted it's mind
Now it's neat sweet ready for
the moon based grind

We love to boogie
We love to boogie on a Saturday night
We love to boogie
High school boogie, jitterbug boogie
We love to boogie on a Saturday night

You rattlesnake out with your tailfeathers high
Jitterbug left and smile to the sky
With your black velvet cape
We love to boogie, we love to boogie
Jitterbug boogie, Bolan pretty boogie
We love to boogie on a Saturday night
and your stovepipe hat
Be-bop baby the dance is where it's at

I love to boogie
Yes I love to boogie on a Saturday night
I said I love to boogie, I love to boogie
Jitterbug boogie, I love to boogie
I love to boogie on a Saturday night
I love to boogie...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91WGG4Ri2BI

London calling to the faraway towns
Now war is declared - and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls
London calling, now don't look to us
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
'Cept for the ring of that truncheon thing

CHORUS
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
Cause London is drowning and I, live by the river

London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it, brother, you can go at it alone
London calling to the zombies of death
Quit holding out - and draw another breath
London calling - and I don't wanna shout
But while we were talking I saw you nodding out
London calling, see we ain't got no high
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes

CHORUS x2
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear era, but I have no fear
Cause London is drowning and I, I live by the river

Now get this
London calling, yes, I was there, too
An' you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
London calling at the top of the dial
And after all this, won't you give me a smile?
London Calling

I never felt so much alike, like-a, like-a...

Me dejo Children of the revolution, de T-Rex.
